Cytogenetic Study in Couples with Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion
Abstract
From 1988 to 1991, the cytogenetic studies were done in thirty two couples with two or more recurrent spontaneous abortion by G-band method.
Fifteen point six percentage (5 in 32 couples) had chromosomal abnormalities which were identified in 5 cases, one huspand and 4 wives. The abnormalities were 3 translocations, one polymorphism and one duplication.
Because the considerable portion of couples with recurrent abortion had the various cytogenetic abnormalities, the chromosomal analysis is advocated as a primary tool in the evaluation of couples with repetitive fetal wastage.
